How We Fund This Site

Tabaconda is a free resource. To keep it that way, some pages contain affiliate links and display advertising. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Our Affiliate Programmes

Amazon Associates

Tabaconda is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. We currently participate in the Amazon UK Associates programme (Amazon.co.uk).

When we recommend a book, product, or piece of equipment, we link to it on Amazon. If you purchase through that link, we earn a small percentage of the sale (typically 1–10% depending on the product category). The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or find the product yourself.

Google AdSense

We display advertisements via Google AdSense. These ads are served by Google and may be personalised based on your browsing history (only with your cookie consent) or contextual to the page content. We earn revenue when ads are viewed or clicked.

Our Editorial Commitment

We want to be completely transparent about how affiliate links work on this site:

  • Editorial independence — Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial content or recommendations. We write about what we believe is genuinely useful and accurate, regardless of whether an affiliate link exists.
  • No pay-for-coverage — Companies cannot pay to be featured or recommended. Every recommendation is based on editorial judgment.
  • Honest recommendations — We only link to products, books, and services we believe are genuinely useful to our readers. If there is no relevant product to recommend, we don't force one in.
  • Transparency — Pages containing affiliate links include a disclosure notice. Individual affiliate links are marked with "(affiliate link)" where they appear inline.
  • Limited density — We limit the number of affiliate links per page to maintain content quality and readability.

How to Identify Affiliate Links

On this site, affiliate links are identified in two ways:

  1. A disclosure notice at the bottom of every page that contains affiliate links.
  2. The text "(affiliate link)" next to prominent inline product recommendations.

Advertising Standards

We comply with the guidelines of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding affiliate marketing disclosure for UK audiences, and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides for US audiences.
